Teaching Assistant: Mrs Sam Pilkington and Mrs Rosie Redford (PM)
Welcome to Oak Class!
A very big welcome back to our not-so-little Oaks! Miss Stuart and Mrs. Pilkington are very excited to be sharing the next stage of our children’s learning and development. We are very lucky to have Mrs Redford in the afternoons this term and she will be working on phonics and language with some of our younger children.
Our topic this term is Superhero-Robots and a visit from some real-life superheroes will be taking place in Week Three.
Meanwhile, wellies and waterproofs are the order of the day for our Forest School (Year 3) and Farm school (Year 2), taking place every Thursday afternoon. We will be growing our own produce to cater for our cream tea event later on in the term (please see calendar for details).
PE takes place on Tuesdays and Fridays. Please ensure your child has their kit for these days.
The weekly spelling test will now be on Fridays, to give the children more time to practice. Also on Fridays will be a weekly times tables test.
Homework tasks may now be selected from our class page to allow the children greater choice. However, spellings and times tables will still be sent home each Friday.
As always, daily reading at home with your child remains vitally important and has a real impact on the children’s learning.
Websites to help your children’s maths learning are Topmarks, Hit the Button and White Rose.
