Teaching Assistant: Mrs Sam Pilkington and Mrs Rosie Redford (PM)
Welcome back to all in Oak Class!
I hope that everyone feels rested and refreshed after the holidays.
Please see below for some information regarding the children’s learning this term.
Our topic is the rainforest this term and we will be looking at the culture of the Ancient Mayans, designing and making rainforest masks and exploring the flora and fauna at Bedgebury Pinetum!
Also our English text this term is a fantastic book call the ‘The Tin Forest’ by Helen Ward. This will allow the children to engage in their reading and writing, whilst examining the themes of ecology and environmentalism.
PE will be on Tuesdays and Fridays, so please ensure your child has their PE kit in school.
I will be conducting the spelling tests on Friday now as this gives the children a full week to practice them at home. Spellings will now be sent home in a homework book so that they will not get lost.
As always, daily reading at home with your child remains vitally important and has a real impact on the children’s learning.
If you have any concerns or issues, then please know that I am always happy to speak to you at the beginning or the end of the day.
Websites to help your children’s maths learning are Topmarks, Hit the Button and White Rose.
