Copper Beech Attends Memorial Service
On Tuesday, Copper Beech walked to Northiam's war memorial to take part in a Remembrance service with Frewen College and Reverend Kate. The service was very moving and some of the children read prayers before we all observed the two minutes' silence.
In English this week we have been looking at how to punctuate and lay out speech correctly. Maths has seen a continuation of a focus on fractions and the children are really enjoying the challenge that this brings. In DT we are creating pop up books, which the children are very excited about. They have written stories - either their own or a version of a well known tale, and are creating a five page pop-up book, which they will be bringing home just before the Christmas holidays. The sessions are taking a lot of patience and attention to detail but everyone is rising to the challenge.
Lastly, in Geography we are focusing on the Alps and how the tourism and leisure industry differs from that in our local area. The children have brought home a questionnaire which should be filled in and returned to school by Monday17th November, please. We will be using these questionnaires on Tuesday so that gives any children who have not managed to ask ten people the questions to ask adults and peers in school. We'd be very grateful for your help with this.
