Copper Beech tackle Division
We’ve had an exciting and productive week in Copper Beech class, and we’d love to share what we’ve been learning.
In Maths we are currently focusing on division, and next week we will be moving on to long division. A strong knowledge of times tables is absolutely vital for this, so please encourage your child to practice daily using Times Table Rock Stars. The target is between 10 and 20 minutes each day to build speed and confidence. If you have any questions or need help accessing Times Table Rock Stars, please get in touch.
In English, our focus is on information texts, which links beautifully with our Geography topic: The Alps. The children will be creating an information leaflet about Innsbruck in Austria, combining research and writing skills.
In DT, we are continuing our creative work on pop-up books. The children are learning how to design and construct interactive elements—great for developing problem-solving and fine motor skills.
This week in Computing we’ve been exploring how to complete addition sums using binary code. It’s a fascinating way to see how computers process numbers!
Finally, in Music we are practising Christmas carols in readiness for our carol singing next week. The children are sounding wonderful and can’t wait to share their festive cheer.
