Honeybees enjoy pumpkin picking at St Francis Field
What a wonderfully busy and adventurous week it's been here at Honeybees! Our little explorers have been absolutely buzzing with excitement, diving into a fantastic array of activities that have sparked both imagination and learning.
Our main story adventure this week took us on a grand voyage with Noah's Ark! The children were completely captivated by the tale, and it was truly delightful to see their concentration as we sequenced the events of the story, piecing together what happened from the rain to the rainbow. Our classroom was filled with cheerful voices as everyone had a brilliant go at singing "Who Built the Ark?" – it was certainly a lively and tuneful experience! This classic story then perfectly linked to our maths explorations, where we've been delving into the concept of pairs and the idea of "the same." With a little help from our clever friend, Concept Cat, the children have been busily matching and identifying pairs, just like all those animals two by two!
But the learning and laughter weren't confined to our classroom! We had a truly magnificent time on our special trip to St. Francis's Field. The crisp autumn air and the rustle of leaves underfoot added to the excitement as we embarked on an unforgettable journey. The children absolutely loved picking their very own bright orange pumpkins, carefully choosing the perfect ones to take back to Honeybees. Their faces lit up with pure joy! We also had a fantastic time on a thrilling scavenger hunt, with little eyes eagerly searching for hidden treasures – it was a brilliant way to explore the field and discover new things.
Our excitement is now building for next week, as we officially kick off Pumpkin Week! We'll be making full use of all the wonderful pumpkins we picked, transforming them into spooky, silly, and spectacular creations with lots of pumpkin-filled activities. Get ready for carving, decorating, and maybe even some pumpkin-themed treats! And don't forget, you can add to the festive atmosphere by dressing in orange if you wish!
