Oak Class - Welcome back!

Welcome Back to Term 2!

We’ve had a fantastic start to the new term, and the children have all settled in after the break. It’s been lovely to see their enthusiasm and focus as we dive back into our learning.

This week in maths, we’ve been learning how to add three one-digit numbers. The children have been using their knowledge of number bonds to help them find efficient ways to solve problems. We’ve also explored how to find a missing part in a number sentence when one part and the whole are already known — a great way to build their understanding of number relationships.

In computing, we’ve been learning all about algorithms. The children discovered that algorithms are sets of instructions that computers follow, and we discussed how computers receive messages to make things work. Thank You!

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us for our Great Fire of London presentation on the last day of Term 1. The children had a fantastic day — they wrote creatively, baked bread, and created stunning Great Fire of London art landscapes. Their costumes were brilliant, and they all had so much fun sharing their learning with you.
